Old habits!

I am a tea-drinker for quite awhile now. Anyhow, today I had to fill my cup with black coffee—again. Last year, I worked on a huge project for my office, we call National Congress. This year will be our 2nd Congress and surprisingly, my boss delegated the assignment to another staff. It is scheduled on the week of my birthday. Good news? At first, until the bomb exploded today!

Taking care of the Congress matters took a great deal out of me. It made me fight my natural physical system, accumulate stress, heartaches and frustrations, and put me on my threshold. I paid the price for that cause; it was done with sweat and blood. Modesty aside, as big as the challenge was, I can proudly say that it was a huge success. That’s one main reason they resolved to have it every year. Now that it’s only about two weeks before the two-day event, my boss (and me, too!) was alarmed learning that a lot of loose ends have to be met. Her response: call for SOS. She directed that I take over.

I’m rushing a lot of matters—invitations, follow ups, documents and details—everything for the second Congress. Actually, this was my fear—that I would have to step in and make do of what’s at hand. It’s harder to do repairs! The director said we (I) must salvage this cause. Good Lord!

I pray that everything will come out well and that we could still make this Congress a success. I personally don’t want this to flop. And I hope to be able to smile after this for my birthday. So help me God.

Coffee, anyone? No sugar.
