PCMN

Although you say you are at peace, I know better. You don’t imagine how much I want to comfort you RIGHT NOW. Be still.

~~
My Friend tendered his resignation as pastor of the church he served for 22 years. I know how much he loves the church but he said the Lord is leading him in a different direction. All I pray for is the Lord’s grace in his life.

May the Lord enlighten your path. Enjoy the journey.

Love is in the Air

Everybody's getting married. There are two weddings I will attend this month, another one by the start of the new year, and two others on the row. Just this year, I was part/guest of a few already. My oh my, I still have to prepare for a bridal shower on Saturday. Pwew!

I congratulate my friends and wish them the best!

November Fever

First, happy birthday to my dear friend PC on November 1st!

I have just finished the enrolment process for second semester this academic year. Yes, after the long wait, I am officially back in school as a student. I'm taking a graduate program in Asian Studies with concentration in Japan studies. First semester was fun and I enjoyed being a student again. I got my grades yesterday and according to my adviser, "those were high marks" (wink). geezzz...

So, next week we'll begin the second semester. I hope to perform better this sem. So help me, God. (All glory to Jesus.)

I guess the word is…frustrated.

Today is my seventh trip to the infirmary to get my medical certificate. Earlier they said they found something suspicious in my x-ray and had to make me go back and forth the lab for further tests. As of today, I am asked to have sputum tests for the next three days, plus PPD.

I rebuke any form of sickness and infection in my body in the name of Jesus, my Healer! Lord, You are in control. Thank you. Amen.

Stage Sister

Occasion: Aubrey Gayle's debut

Last night, I played the ‘stage sister’ role with the kids—I mean, Tan and Archie. They were invited to attend their friend’s debut party and I was all-cramming to transform them into ‘a lady and a gentleman’ respectively.

Tan wore a purple Tinkerbelle-cut dress. It looks lovely on her. It was matched with a pair of silver Cinderella shoes, thanks to Ate Lyj.

Archie, on the other hand, wore a white long-sleeved top with blue tie. I love that tie with the dog prints. He wore an algae green pants with cool streaks.

The makeover was quite a success in my opinion as they both look great. Modesty aside, they look really fit for the occasion.

Of course, they aren’t kids anymore. And social gatherings like this are getting more like a norm for them now. It’s a relief to know that these kids are around good company. Thank you, Lord.

Later that night I heard them come home and said they had a great time. Good for them. I didn’t see the pictures until this morning though. I felt like saying to myself: Mission accomplished!

Christian Life

The beauty of Christian life is

not that we are always strong, but

in the midst of anguish, despair and difficulty

we can still shout...

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME !

Galing Pook ladies

I was invited to join the Galing Pook team during their Galing Pook Awarding Ceremony at the Malacañan Palace. On the background is the Seal of the President of the Philippines. Everybody is in formal attire, our traditional dress, the Filipiniana.

* S I S T E R S *

Here we are! Hehe...
Tan, Jag, Jai, Len.

So, everybody thinks I'm the oldest since I'm the tallest... or maybe, because they said I'm the strictest.

Oh well....

Galing Pook Awarding

Last night Aidz and I attended the awarding ceremony dinner for winners and finalists of the Galing Pook Award given to outstanding LGUs. The formal awarding ceremony was held in the morning at the Malacañan Palace with President Arroyo. I had fun at the event.

The Filipiniana Search

Yesterday, Aidz and I went to the mall to look for a Barong Tagalog (Filipino formal wear for men). We saw a lot of designs with prices ranging from reasonable to absurd. He tried fitting three or four of them. The designs are good; it’s really hard to pick the best. Anyway, he ended up buying the “latest” design which really looks great. I will see after tomorrow if I’ll be able to post it here. Yeah, we will be wearing formal Filipino attire (Filipiniana dress for me) for tomorrow’s awarding ceremony at Malacañang Palace. He invited me to come to their event. I went home last night to get mine. Today, I'll be looking for possible accessories. At least I got a purse--no way am I gonna buy that ridiculous price! haha!

The CLAN Reunion Plan

I went home last night and the after dinner talks at the table stretched to many interesting topics. The most interesting topic was the plan for THE CLAN Reunion. My father really got a kick out of that. Well, for one, he’s the only one who actually carries the family name (being the only brother of three sisters). Also, our third generation only has one bearer (thus far) of the seven grandchildren. So the family name is secured by a three-year-old toddler, my nephew Aaron.

My cousin really wants this to push through. I believe we all do it’s just that no one really gives the time to make it happen. So, last Sunday after my siblings met with my cousins, they decided we will have it in summer.

I love our family. For one, my father’s family is really intact so-to-speak. We were raised to follow the old traditions and still cling to most of them. Even to some Filipinos, they find us old-fashioned. Anyway, I take pride in that.

We had a good time planning for summer’s reunion. It seemed that the organizer will be mainly us (my siblings and my cousin)—the younger generation as they call us. A theme popped in my mind: “Sixty-three and counting….” since there are already 63 of us from the clan’s root. I know it’ll be fun. We’re excited!

Back in circulation

God is awesome!

The three of us (Kuya, Jovell & myself) had been home for almost six weeks now. In that period, a lot of major events and activities had already happened here—-not to mention the most anticipated holidays. I am so blessed to have gone away but even more to come back. This certainly sounds trite, but anyway, “There’s no place like home.”

Right now, I’m busy preparing for the upcoming Anniversary Thanksgiving at Church on Sunday. I’m making bookmarks for giveaways. Also preparing for the bulletin, program, tarp, and hopefully, the radio script. Oh my, I need to finish before weekend!

Things are a little slow here in the office for the beginning of the year. It’s to my advantage, really, so I could do my personal work without so much pressure from my professional work. Thank God. And God’s continually blessing me with beautiful opportunities at work right now.

I wish to post a lot of pictures since we came back but for some reason, the blogger icons aren’t showing up. Too bad. I wonder if it’s just me or the glitch is from the main server.

The first month of the year is almost to its close. Anyway, I would still wish everybody a joyous and blessed new year!
