My sister’s amusement; my demise.
My love life, or rather absence of such, is not an issue at home--at least, that's what I thought. Everyone acted oblivious of that fact and I'm perfectly fine with it. I prefer being the simple me, at home or outside, and I'm sure my family knows that. But little kids (for instance, a little sister aged 20) can be mischievous enough and do things that make afternoons at home interesting, to say the least. So this is what my baby sister cooked over the weekend.
She keeps on hinting that I was supposed to introduce 'someone' at home. This is the second time during the day already. Knowing our Dad, he would only be quiet but actually, he's listening to every single chat that my sister utters. We all KNOW that. And so he was a victim of my sister's funtime, and unfortunately, I happened to be the object of her amusement.
She kept saying that I will be introducing someone at home; winking at me on the side. And then she exclaimed, "Tatay, Ate's almost thirty, right?" And my good father replied, "Yes, I know that.' "She will be introducing someone to us soon. Do you know?" she insisted. " It's about time," he said. My sister grinned at me. "But you--you're still young for those things. You don't have any license to do so," he continued.
I was beyond shocked when I heard him. I shouted with all indignation, "Tatay, you're going to give me away just like that?! Seriously! I have no idea what Nene is talking about. She's making up stories and yet... I can't believe this! You're giving me away!” My sister was having the time of her life with my Tatay's reaction.
And that's one interesting afternoon at home. I'm sure my father really thinks there's someone out there he is supposed to meet. Heh.

What is love?
Part 2
Love exploded like a cannon inside your brain. It left no room to be cautious, careful and reasonable. Love hit you with a battering ram and made you feel happy even as you lay crushed and broken on the ground. Love made you jump off a cliff without a second thought. Love made dangerous and downright suicidal things seem like good ideas. - krystalMage

What is love?
"I had said "I love you" for the first time, and actually meant it. Scared the hell out of me, but after we both said the words it was like every single cliché ever invented about love was suddenly true. The sky was brighter, the world was perfect, my heart was singing and I actually understood the real beauty of love. I'd read it, watched it, dreamed about it, but I had never in a million years thought it was so much more than that. You truly have to experience it to know truly what love is like." – Temptress-Kitten
Interesting. Perhaps one day I would "truly" grasp what she meant by that.
There's one love that surpasses all else: the Love of Christ.

late posting yet not forgetting
On the 1st of this month, a friend of mine celebrated his birthday. You know who you are; and though I may not directly greet you, know that I remembered you more that day than any day. I pray the best for you. God bless.

Another trip to the ENT
As you may have recalled, I have a history of visiting the ENT some three years ago with my left ear. Just this morning, I went back for another case, this time with my right ear.
I am so anxious of the thought that it might be another case of keratosis. The memory of the pain it caused me back then was ingrained in my memory and perhaps will never be forgotten. So, when I started feeling the symptoms again, I had to go and see the doctor.
This time, it wasn't as serious as the first. Still painful though. But the ENT said I have an infection in the throat and instructed me to take some meds. The doc said it will also help with my ear case.
So, in the middle of my chaotic schedule at work and school, I had a timeout to visit the doctor. I hope the pain would go away for good this time.

Paid off
Well, April 5 was the oficial closure of the second semester for this academic year for me. All my papers and exams were in by this time. I'm glad it was over. I checked my grades earlier and found out it was favorable. Thank you, Lord. The marking system in our school gives 1.0 as the highest possible grade and 5.0 for failed. I got a 1.0 and a 1.25. :)

It's been a while....
Yup, I really don't have much time to update here anymore...at least for now. A good chunk of my time is now coursing to my studies. There is too much to read; but if you enjoy the subject (and the program of course), it'll be easier to bear. But there are still times when I'm just stubborn or simply lazy. Nonetheless, I love studying. Right now, I'm due with two paper presentations in a couple of days and I barely have a page on each. The hardest part for me is always to begin to write. But I like the topic and will (probably) whip myself tonight to finish a good portion of it. I did my research work and data gathering and the books are all due tomorrow! Right!?! Oh-oh...
I wish to come back here soon and blog some more. Maybe, after I finish my school stuff.
I hope everyone is doing fine.
On a side note: Last Saturday, 13 February, was my Mom's 8th birthday in heaven. I miss you, Nanay. I love you so much.

PCMN
Although you say you are at peace, I know better. You don’t imagine how much I want to comfort you RIGHT NOW. Be still.
~~
My Friend tendered his resignation as pastor of the church he served for 22 years. I know how much he loves the church but he said the Lord is leading him in a different direction. All I pray for is the Lord’s grace in his life.
May the Lord enlighten your path. Enjoy the journey.

Love is in the Air
Everybody's getting married. There are two weddings I will attend this month, another one by the start of the new year, and two others on the row. Just this year, I was part/guest of a few already. My oh my, I still have to prepare for a bridal shower on Saturday. Pwew!
I congratulate my friends and wish them the best!

November Fever
First, happy birthday to my dear friend PC on November 1st!
I have just finished the enrolment process for second semester this academic year. Yes, after the long wait, I am officially back in school as a student. I'm taking a graduate program in Asian Studies with concentration in Japan studies. First semester was fun and I enjoyed being a student again. I got my grades yesterday and according to my adviser, "those were high marks" (wink). geezzz...
So, next week we'll begin the second semester. I hope to perform better this sem. So help me, God. (All glory to Jesus.)

I guess the word is…frustrated.
Today is my seventh trip to the infirmary to get my medical certificate. Earlier they said they found something suspicious in my x-ray and had to make me go back and forth the lab for further tests. As of today, I am asked to have sputum tests for the next three days, plus PPD.
I rebuke any form of sickness and infection in my body in the name of Jesus, my Healer! Lord, You are in control. Thank you. Amen.

Stage Sister
Occasion: Aubrey Gayle's debut
Last night, I played the ‘stage sister’ role with the kids—I mean, Tan and Archie. They were invited to attend their friend’s debut party and I was all-cramming to transform them into ‘a lady and a gentleman’ respectively.
Tan wore a purple Tinkerbelle-cut dress. It looks lovely on her. It was matched with a pair of silver Cinderella shoes, thanks to Ate Lyj.
Archie, on the other hand, wore a white long-sleeved top with blue tie. I love that tie with the dog prints. He wore an algae green pants with cool streaks.
The makeover was quite a success in my opinion as they both look great. Modesty aside, they look really fit for the occasion.
Of course, they aren’t kids anymore. And social gatherings like this are getting more like a norm for them now. It’s a relief to know that these kids are around good company. Thank you, Lord.
Later that night I heard them come home and said they had a great time. Good for them. I didn’t see the pictures until this morning though. I felt like saying to myself: Mission accomplished!
